Getting My Groove Back

I miss crafting. I used to craft all of the time. I've become envious of the gals that still have the flair for crafting and seem to be doing so well with it!

My house is even struggling. We did so much with our first house, a cozy colorful 1940's cottage home. We are approaching 2 years in the new house and I've done minimal work around the place. I stare at the taupe walls and desire other colors, but I cant make up my mind. Dustin has had the desire to install a back splash in the kitchen, the kind with glass penny tiles reaching 1.5 feet above the counter tops. I finally said go for it, just do it. My kitchen is painted to the point where the tiles would reach, and.... nothing. I cant fall in love with a tile. We found a lovely stacked rock pattern, far from the glass penny tiles, but Dustin is caving this time.

So in an effort to regain my flair for crafts, eradicating my indecisiveness and doing something fun I'm going to make this. I'm not sure what I'll do with it, if anything but I'm going to make it no matter how long it takes me to cut out 96 individual butterflies.

  1. I love the butterfly mobile! My husband and I tiled our backsplash 2 years ago and it was really easy...at least alot easier than we had thought it would be. We have a wet tile saw if you need to borrow it.

  2. I totally feel you! I haven't crafted in the longest time and I miss it. Plus, my house looks like a hot mess and my goal this year is to re-do 4 rooms. This means Ms. Claire will have to go to grandma's house to play while I get some things done!

Let me know if you ever want to have a crafting party!!
